Where billboards plant seeds of growth and change lives
City Gates is proud to announce its most strategic and multi-purpose project to date: Vision Gateway – a master-planned development soon to take shape along the R21 highway between the Nellmapius offramp and 50th Road. What is currently an underutilised piece of land between industrial and agricultural zones will soon be brought to life as a place of growth and opportunity.
With Vision Gateway, we give expression to a core City Gates principle: that self-reliance begins with spaces where people can access opportunity, learn new skills, and shape their own economic futures. The site will be developed in phases to establish an integrated living and working environment that includes training, micro-manufacturing, community agriculture, recreation, and small-scale commerce.
“South Africa doesn’t need more promises. We need space – space to learn, to plant, and to build. Vision Gateway is exactly that: a real place where dignity is restored and people begin to dream again.”
— Daryl Hardy, Co-founder of City Gates
The development will include:
- Micro-workshops where entrepreneurs can refine their skills and earn a living.
- Training facilities for youth and adults who want to learn a trade or profession.
- Community food gardens, including vegetable patches, orchards, and fish farming.
- Safe play and sports areas for children and youth development.
- A community market where fresh produce and local crafts can be sold.
Vision Gateway will also operate independently with sustainable energy solutions such as solar power. A surrounding greenbelt will act as a buffer against traffic noise while also producing food and bringing natural beauty to the area.
City Gates invites entrepreneurs, investors, and partners to help bring this vision to life. Vision Gateway is not just a development on paper – it’s a tangible step toward a healthier, more self-sufficient South Africa.
